The Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, where it has been located since January of 1988, has a long history in Tunkhannock. The Funeral home is owned by Anthony P. Litwin Jr., F.D. and is supervised by his son John F. Litwin, F.D.
Anthony bought the Samuel B. Harding Funeral Home, located at 64 Bridge St in Tunkhannock, PA from Sam and Ruth Harding in February, 1987, which then became the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home.
Sam had purchased the Billings Funeral Home and Furniture Store from his aunt, Blanche Harding Billings, in 1963. Blanche operated the Billings Funeral Home under a widow’s license after her husband’s death in 1945.
The Billings Funeral Home and Furniture Store were established in 1910 by Blanche’s husband, Bert Billings. Bert operated the business until his death in 1945, when Sam joined his Aunt in the operation of the Billings Funeral Home and Furniture Store.
Throughout the years the Funeral Home has strived to serve the residents of the Tunkhannock area with caring service, professionalism and fair prices.
