Gladys Colvin Michaels, 92, of Factoryville died Saturday Nov. 4, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s at Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center.  Born in Factoryville on Feb. 12, 1925; the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Michaels Colvin.  She was a wonderful mother with a beautiful infectious smile.   Mom enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners, long drives to nowhere, crocheting, growing plants, reading and fill it in books.  She rarely missed church and enjoyed volunteering in church activities.

Gladys was a 1943 graduate of Factoryville High School and before retirement was employed by Wood Co. as a baker at Keystone College dining hall; a member of The Factoryville United Methodist Church, Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband Earl Williams who passed away June 22, 1992 and by her second husband Kenneth Michaels who passed away on May 28, 1989.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers William and Harry Colvin and two step-sons Paul and David Michaels.

Surviving are two sons; John Williams of Reno NV and Don Williams of Factoryville.  Three daughters Patricia Cook [Don] of Edmounds WA, Dianne Noll [Herb] of Dalton, Karen Doyle of Factoryville and two step-daughters Elaine Goodrich of Hallstead and Mary Barton [Robert] of Henderson NV.  Two former sons-in-law Dwight Goggans and Joe Doyle.  Grandchildren Eric, Jill, Matt, Katie, Chris, Ellen, Patrick, Sarah, and step-grandchildren Sue, Debbie, Becky, Bobby, Judi, Linda, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to Dr. Michael Kondash and staff for the compassionate care they have shown through out the years to our mother.  To Allied Hospice Care for their around the clock dedication while making our mother comfortable in her final hours.  A very special thank you to the caring and loving staff of Allied Services SNC 3 North for their many years of extraordinary compassion and daily heart felt commitment to all of those in their care.  May God Bless you all.
