Kara Jean Cook, 11, of Tunkhannock passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sept 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with a third cancer.  Kara was born in Scranton on Mar. 14, 2006 and she is the daughter of Walton E. and Alisha J. Karp Cook.

Kara was baptized in the Methodist faith and was attending the Tunkhannock Area Middle School and she would have been in 6thgrade.  Kara was a member of the T-Town Twirlers, and a student at Whipples Dance Studio where she danced Ballet and Irish. She loved life to its fullest with the kindest heart for everyone she met. She loved fishing, going to the movies with friends, and dinners with family especially dessert with Grandpa. She was well known for her bright smile and never give up attitude. She has left a special impression on everyone that had the opportunity to meet her.

Kara is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Earl W. Cook, Sr., paternal grandmother Katherinea Cook, and uncle Frank E. Cook

In addition to her parents she is survived by her maternal grandparents Stanley and Sharon Karp, uncles; Stan Karp Jr., Earl W. Cook, Jr. “Beaver”, Earl Cook IV, William Dyer and aunts Stephanie Cook and Amy Cook and many special great aunts, great uncles and cousins close to her heart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor John Shaffer officiating.  A viewing will be held Wednesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Nicholson Cemetery.
