Agnes B. Dickson, 92, of Tunkhannock, died Nov. 25, 2020 at the Willowbrook Place Senior Living. She was born in Woodbridge Twp., New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Agnes Brown Bothwell who moved from Scotland to America in the early 1920’s.

Agnes was married to the late James R. Dickson for 55 years.  Agnes was a Registered Nurse and gained her degree from the Jersey City Nursing School.

Agnes was one of the founding members of the Tunkhannock Ambulance Association, and she taught EMT classes for many years, finally retiring at age 88.  Agnes was awarded 2012 James “Sox” Ruane Outstanding Provider of the Year by the Geisinger Health Systems for her community service.  She also was awarded Pennsylvania EMS Educator of the Year in 2018. Agnes volunteered at Tyler Memorial Hospital where she was the ICU supervisor for many years. She also taught CPR for the Red Cross and was an intregal part of that organization for many years.  Agnes never stopped being a nurse and was always willing to share her knowledge with others.  Agnes was also a  member of  the Red Hat Society proudly wearing her red and purple.  She enjoyed puzzles, bunco, crafts and being with friends, but her favorite thing was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, grandson, and 4 brothers.

She is survived by a son, James Jr. and his wife, Laura, her daughter, Karen and her husband, Ned Sherman, all residing in Tunkhannock; five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery on Sat. Dec. 5, 2020 at 11am with Pastor John Shaffer officiating.  Those attending are asked to abide Pa COVID regulation and wear a face covering.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Tunkhannock Ambulance Association, 195 Bridge Street Tunkhannock, Pa. 18657.  For directions or online condolences visit www.aplitwinfuneralhomes.com
