Alice E. Pensak, 70, of Factoryville, passed away on the farm surrounded by everything that she loved on Sunday, February 27, 2022. She was the widow of Carl H. Pensak, Sr. who passed away on October 4, 2015.

She was born on August 28, 1951, the daughter of the late Harold Snyder, Sr. and Margaret Cassidy Snyder.

Alice owned and operated both a dairy farm in Factoryville and the Nicholson Livestock Market, or “The Sale Barn” as it is well known, where she could be found every Tuesday for the past 35-plus years. She was given the nickname “The Big A” by those who worked with her; she was a force to be reckoned with.

She loved everything about farming and considered the animals her extended family.  In the morning she talked to the cows and to the chickens while collecting eggs.

When not working on the farm or at the Sale Barn, she could be found planting flowers all around her yard with a green thumb that could bring any flower or plant back to life.

Above all, her joy was her family.  She cherished every one of her children and grandchildren.  Whether it was a birthday party, holiday celebration, or a cookout at the farm, she was happiest when she was surrounded by the ones she loved.

In August 2021, Alice celebrated her 70th birthday and enjoyed a surprise party with her family and friends.  She was a very young 70-year-old who loved life and the people in her life.

Our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same without her.

Alice is survived by daughter, Alice Naniewicz and husband, Bernard Jr., Dalton; four sons, Frank Pensak of Tunkhannock; Chris Pensak and wife Elizabeth of Tunkhannock; Carl Pensak, Jr. of Factoryville; Scott Pensak and wife Desarah of Factoryville.

She also is survived by her 15 beloved grandchildren; Joshua and Jonah; Loughan and Skuyler; Troy, Tori and Colton; Brianna, Carlee, Ayrianna and Adam; Jaelynn, Hunter, Shania and Grace.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Alice is survived by three brothers with whom she was very close; Harold Snyder, Thomas Snyder and John Snyder all of Scranton; and many beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Emma Pensak and Matthew Kinney.
