Anna Anita Alfiere De Konty, 98, Simpson Meadows, Downingtown Pennsylvania, formerly of Falls-Lake Winola, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Simpson Meadows
Methodist home. She was the wife of Michael Maxine De Konty of Falls, Pennsylvania, who passed away at the age of 100 years on December 31, 2009. They had celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on October 2, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother Joseph.

Born in Scranton on March 3, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James and Lena Alfieri of Scranton, Pennsylvania. After her fairytale elopement, she and Michael began their married life with the focus of raising children and they were blessed with eight children. Anna’s life primarily centered on her role as a mother to her eight children. She was actively involved in church activities at the Mill City Assembly of God where she is remembered with great fondness.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary De Konty Applegate and husband, Tony, Philadelphia; Joanne De Boy and husband, Jim, Philadelphia; Deborah Dobbs and husband, Mel, Roanoke, Virginia and Sharon Self and husband, Baine, Richmond, Virginia; four sons, Michael and wife, Eunice, Phoenix; Daniel and wife, Barbara, Acworth, Georgia; David and wife, Laurie, Lake Winola; and Paul and wife, Jennifer, Phoenix. She has one surviving sister-in-law, Ruth Christian, Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 AM at Mill City Assembly of God church, 167 Mercy Ln, Dalton, PA 18414 with the Reverend James G. Rugg officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.

Friends may call Friday, 5 to 7 P.M. at the Harding – Litwin Funeral home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, and 1hr prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the Mill City Assembly of God.
