Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2pm from Anthony P. Litwin Jr, Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St, Factoryville with Retired Pastor Harold C. Schorr officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home an hour before service time (1pm – 2pm). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Factoryville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 326 Factoryville PA 18419, and the Factoryville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 412 College Ave. Factoryville PA 18419.

Betti “Betty” Lou Evans, 85, of Nicholson, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. Born in Chinchilla on December 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Barney and Elizabeth Woodyatt Houser. Her husband of 57 years, Philip B. Evans Sr., died on May 4, 2019, also at the age of 85.

Betti graduated from Clarks Summit High School. She belonged to the Endless Mountains Craft Association and Factoryville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former member of Nicholson United Methodist Church, and a current member of the Factoryville United Methodist Church, serving as a hospitality member. She enjoyed bowling with her husband in a mixed league at Green Ridge Lanes. She was employed in various office/bookkeeping roles in the garment industry and in related businesses; she retired from Miller’s Country Store/ Agway.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Kondash and staff, Traditional Home Health and Hospice, Allied Hospice, and Mr. and Mrs. Patel from the Dalton Pharmacy, and her in-home Aides, for all of their amazing care of Betti.

Betti was preceded in death by two sisters, Henrietta and Emily: brother, Del.

Surviving is her son Philip Jr., his wife Debra (Donati) Evans, and their son Ryan Evans, all of Dalton, many nieces, nephews,  great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
