Philadelphia. Cole was receiving therapy for leukemia which was in remission. He experienced
sudden and unexpected neurologic complications that were not survivable. He was born in Scranton
on January 10, 2004. Cole is the only child and son of Gerry and Kimberly Henry.
Cole is a 2022 graduate of Lackawanna Trail Jr. Sr. High School. Cole was a member of the National
Honor Society and the Cross County team. He was also a very capable wrestler. A two-time PIAA
District II title winner during his junior and senior years. He attended King’s College and was planning
to transfer to East Stroudsburg University to continue his studies in Environmental Science.
Cole loved the outdoors and all animals; especially spending time with his dog, Augustus (Gus) and
raising chickens from peeps. He enjoyed long walks in the woods on the family property in La Plume.
He spent time hunting, fishing, gardening there and at the cabin in Forkston with his Dad and the
Forkston Family. Even with his love of the outdoors, Cole was a gamer at heart. Cole was also a
foodie. He enjoyed cooking from a very young age and continuously worked on improving his
culinary skills with his Mom in their home kitchen.
He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents, Gerald and Holly.
In addition to his parents, Cole is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Kalee Graham, the love of his
life. His maternal Grandparents, Thomas and Julie Perry of Scott Township. Aunt Cindy Walton,
Uncles Dan, Jim, Mike and Chris Perry, Great Aunt Sharon Henry Carr, Great Uncle Arthur Henry and
many cousins.
The Henry’s would like to thank Cole’s oncology team at C.H.O.P., most notably Drs. Monica
Pomaville, Anne Reilly and Kathrin Bernt, Sarah McDonough CRNP, nurses, Nicole and John and
everyone else at Main, Buerger and KOP who made a positive impact on Cole too numerous to list
here because it is in fact every single person you come in contact with who help make our time there
a little better every day. To the PICU Team, thank you for the exemplary level of care provided to
Cole. You are amazing.
In addition to participating in several research studies, Cole donated his organs for scientific study to
help future patients fight leukemia for many years to come.
