Edward J. Dymond, 82, of Tunkhannock passed away at Allied Hospice Scranton on Saturday morning, April 26, 2025 as the rain lightly fell and the birds sang outside his window. He was born June 30, 1942, in Kingston, the eldest son of the late Edward E. and Sophia Fronczek Dymond.

Eddie was happy being raised in Dymond Hollow and would share stories often from his youth. He was a graduate of the Tunkhannock Area High School Class of 1962. After graduation he enjoyed the local softball leagues, fishing and hunting. He was employed by EndicottJohnson locations for many years before retiring from MetLife in Clark’s Summit.

In 1969, Eddie married Linda L. Williams. They moved to Shupp Hill in 1976 where they cared for many animals -cats, dogs, goldfish, quails, birds and even a peacock and skunk. Although they eventually divorced they shared a beautiful friendship until she passed in 2006. Eddie loved living “on the hill” and caring for his property and gardening. He loved his family time and enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, watching sports (especially his Tigers), and going out to eat.

He is survived by his brothers: Eric J. Dymond of Lake Winola, and Stuart F. Dymond of Tunkhannock. Brother in law, Harold Williams, of Jackson and sister in law, Debra (Stanley) Sands, of Tunkhannock. Nephews: Jason Dymond of Pittston, Charles Williams of Jackson and Richard (Christine) Williams of Thompson. Nieces: Erica Dymond of Clarks Summit and his goddaughter, Bobbi Jo (Nathaniel) Roote of Tunkhannock. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Allied Hospice Scranton for their kind and compassionate care in his final days. You were all such a blessing to him and to us. A special thank you to Gary M. for all you did.
