Edward Leroy Frederici, 79 of Dalton passed away at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart on May 27th. He was born in Johnson City, NY. on Aug. 12, 1944 and he was the son of the late Iantha Fuller Valentine and Floyd Aten. He was married to Cathy Jean Lewis on Feb. 11th, 1967. Edward was a 1964 graduate of the Lackawanna Trail School District.
Employed and Retired from Keystone College after 29 years, Eddie also had a hand in the construction of the Keystone Observatory. “Fast Eddie” was a one of a kind character! He was a special presence, he would walk into a room and gain many friends in a heartbeat. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back, always thinking about others before himself. He had many hobbies, including lawn mowing, coin collecting, metal detecting, greens picking, fishing, cards with his buddies and many other interests. Above anything else he loved his girls with all his heart, especially “Red”, his true love of over 60 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Patricia Franko, brother William Frederici and nephew Charles Frederici.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Susan Lebrecht and husband Andrew of Dupont,PA. Amy Hardy and husband Roger of Humble,TX. Grandchildren; David Hetzel, Eric Hetzel, Brandon Hardy, and Kirsten Hardy, and 8 great grandchildren, and several brother and sisters-in laws and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 2nd at 3pm at the Anthony P. Litwin Funeral Home 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville, Pa. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family and close friends. For online condolences visit
