James ‘Jim’ ‘Hootie’ Hudock passed away Friday February 5, 2021 with family by his side.

His journey began January 9, 1947 and he was preceded in death by his parents Cyril and Mary Hudock (O’Day), brother Robert and niece Holliegh Roe. He is survived by his wife – Ann; daughters – Janine Robertson (Bob) and Dawn Albright (Chase); son – James; grandchildren – Kirstie (Emma, Liam), Sabrina, Jocelyn, Bobby (Julia, Carter, Aria), Cheyenne; brother – William (Carol); sister – Eleanor; nephews – Brian (Lucine, Jayce, Natalie), Paul, Rob and niece – Nora.

He was a proud Mason belonging to Nicholson Lodge where he served as Senior Master of Ceremonies. He also belonged to the Irem Shrine and was a member of the Oriental Band having served as President. He belonged to Hillbilly Clan 119 and the Order of Quetzalcoatl where he was elected Camaxi (President). He belonged to the Hyde Park Lodge of the Knights of Pythias.

He served as chaplain of the Endless Mountains Memorial VFW

Post 3583 and was a member of the Dennis Strong American Legion Post 457 and an associate member of the Triton Fire Company.

While he may not be here with us he is truly and will always be all around us. His legacy continues through our freedoms as he was a member of the US Air Force and a brave Vietnam Veteran. He left an indelible mark through the many projects he completed and the life-long friends he made as a loyal employee of Proctor and Gamble for 29 years. He developed devoted friendships with his work family at the Dietrich Theater/Wyoming County Cultural

Society where his contributions will be enjoyed for years to come.

We will forever cherish the value of spending time in nature, especially at the family home and cabin. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a special bond with all wildlife and all of the pets he encountered.

We will always appreciate the love of the foods he enjoyed and grew in his garden and the music that brought him a smile.

His thoughtfulness continues on in all of the projects he completed as he was capable of fixing, building and planning any anything.

The wisdom, kindness, humor, bravery and work-ethic he instilled in his family and friends will live on forever through those he inspired. Words can’t quite describe this beloved man, but if you knew him you loved him.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you spend time enjoying the little things in life, perform an act of kindness or teach someone to fish.
