James Owen Allen, 53, passed away at his home on Oct. 24, 2017. He was born in Meshoppen on Jan. 15, 1964 and he was the son of the late Jack R. Allen and Bertha “Pat” Evans Allen. Jim married the love of his life the former Nancy J. Osborn. They’ve been together for 23 years. Jim was a 1982 graduate of Elk Lake High School. He worked at PennDOT and drove school bus for the Elk Lake School District.
He enjoyed all that life had to offer especially spending time with his grandkids. Jim liked being in the outdoors and riding his bike. He also liked watching and attending NASCAR races.
In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a sister Paula Johnson, brother Jack D. Allen, and a granddaughter Lily Newell.
In addition to his mother and wife Jim is survived by his children Shannon and husband Ben Oakley of Greenfield Twp., Kenny Newell of Meshoppen, Ashley Thompson and Jeremy Vaskas of Meshoppen, brother Greg and wife Ellen Allen of Montrose, sister Debbie and husband JT Micklo of Meshoppen, and sister-in-law Linda Robbins Allen of Meshoppen. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
