John Edward Vieczorek, 66, of Tunkhannock passed away at Tyler Memorial Hospital on April 3, 2018. John was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on December 23, 1951, he was the son of Steven and Mildred Vieczorek. John was married to Gail Vieczorek for 42 years. He was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School. He was the owner of Vieczorek Builders for 44 years. John will be remembered as a unique and free-spirited person. John’s greatest enjoyment was spending time at their cabin at the river with Gail and the dogs. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life he picked up the hobby of Sky Diving, which showed his adventurous personality. He insisted that everything he did was fun. He wanted to laugh at everything life brought to him. It was always a goal of his to have fun and laugh every day. We will surely miss his crazy and elaborate stories.
In addition to his wife and mother, John is survived by his brothers: Reggie of Tunkhannock, Ronald and his wife Sandy of Tunkhannock, Judson of Tunkhannock, sister Diana and husband Chuck Kovalick of Noxen. His children James and Julie Hanna of Noxen, Heather and husband Steve Vieczorek of St. Augustine, FL, Megan and husband Jason Kobbe of Tunkhannock, Tommie and husband Dennie Robinson of Tunkhannock, and John and wife Marie Vieczorek of Tunkhannock. 16 Grandchildren , 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10am Friday at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, Pa. with Pastor Lori Robinson Officiating. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow Friday at the Sunnyside Cemetery with the Marine Corp. Honor Guard.
