John Jay Davis, 68, of Springville, passed away at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart on Nov. 26 2018. He was born in Green Ny and he was the son of the late Theodore and Ellen Hitchcock Davis. John worked at Casket Shells Inc for many years. John was married to his loving and devoted wife the late former Melia Dyson for 39 years.
In addition to his wife and parents John is preceded in death by a son Danial Davis, sisters; Anna May Hughes, Janet Marsh, and Mary Jane Miller.
John is survived by his children; Jarad and fiancé Sarah Jayne of West Auburn, Michael and wife Sarah Teachout, Minneapolis, Justin and wife Janica Davis of Ogden, Jason and wife Ashley of Nicholson, Doug Davis of Meshoppen, and Raymond Davis grandchildren; Jasmine Wood, Raylynn, Madison, Cora, Willa, and Hazel Dyson, Faith Osuna and husband Joe, Kilian Davis, Zachary and Owen Tennant, and Myra Scott, and a great granddaughter Sophia Osuna. Brother Jim Davis and wife Marjory of Albion Ny, sister Eileen Omeara Rochester, Ny, brother Jerry Davis and wife Irene Arizona, and Sharon Jackson and husband Edward of Las Vegas, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sat. Dec. 1st at 2pm from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with pastor Lynn Mokwa of the Bowman’s Creek Free Methodist church officiating.
