Margaret (Peggy) Sohns

August 22, 1932- September 10, 2024

Margaret (Peggy) Sohns, 92, of Tunkhannock passed away in the early morning of Sep 10, 2024 at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.

She was born August 22, 1932 in Falls, Pa the daughter of the late Archie and Iona Phoenix Eyet. She was married for 52 years to Ted Sohns Jr. who passed away in 2006.

Peggy was a 1951 graduate of Falls-Overfield High School, and she was happily employed for twenty-five years as a teacher’s assistant at Tunkhannock Nursery School. She was a lifelong member of the Dymond Hollow United Methodist Church. She was blessed to be born into a large family and treasured the memories spent as a child with her parents and siblings on the family homestead in Falls. Her love of family continued when she married Ted. Together they raised three sons, Ted III (Danielle) of Benton, Craige (Laurie) of Brooklyn and Curtis (Mary) of Tunkhannock. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Craige Martin Sohns, Matthew Sohns, Melissa Drake, Maggie Sohns, and Patrick Sohns; and six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Landry, Ella, Lyla, Calob, and Natalie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The last of eleven children, she was preceded in death by her sisters Marie Race, Barbara Schrader, Eleanor Eyet, Doris Willets, Lucille Logan, and Ruth Eyet; and brothers Donald Eyet, Edgar Eyet, Jim Eyet, and Malcolm Eyet.

Memorial services will be held on Monday Sept. 16, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home Inc., 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with the Pastor John Shaffer officiating. Private family Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
