Merle M. Bullock Wesley, 92, of Canton, NC and formerly of Tunkhannock and Factoryville, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday evening, October 7, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born, in East Rush, PA, on May 4, 1930 to the late Jay and Elizabeth Kiefer Bullock. Merle graduated from Meshoppen High School in 1947 and attended secretarial school near Binghamton, NY. She married George H. Wesley, Jr of Factoryville in Dec. 1953 and they were married for 32 years until his passing in August of 1986. Merle enjoyed crocheting and was an extraordinary seamstress. She loved and worked hard for her family’s well being and anyone that came into her life that needed help. She was a member of the Factoryville Ladies Auxiliary for several years, a faithful volunteer for the Wyoming County Fair, and gained special recognition for her years of service. Merle had an infectious smile that would spread like wildfire. She had a big heart, a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by many. Precious memories will be kept and shared forever.
Merle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, George Wesley, III; granddaughter, Jennifer A. Wesley; sister and husband, Eleanor (Kurt) Kipar; and brother and wife, Gerald (Helen) Bullock.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Clinton (Cheryl), Dean (Melissa), Teri (Shawn), Betsy (Paul); many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 30th at 3pm from the Anthony P. Litwin, Jr. Funeral Homes 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville Pa. A visitation will be held from 1 until 3pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville.
