Nancy Kay Kohl, 51, of Tunkhannock passed away at her house in Tunkhannock on Jan. 15, 2016. She was born in Meshoppen on Sept. 20, 1964 and she was the daughter of John R. and Rita J. Ross Balint. Nancy was a 1983 graduate of the Tunkhannock High school and married the late Andrew Steven Kohl whom passed in 2013. Nancy met Andy while working in the insurance business in Florida. Later they moved to Tunkhannock where she lived with Andy and her two daughters, Abigail and Madilyn. Nancy always looked out for her girls, and for her Mom and Dad who live down the street. She made sure Abigail and Madilyn were challenged and active in life, in spirit, and in academics, as well as with extracurricular activities and their friendships. Nancy loved and lived life. Her full time job was taking care of her family. She was always available with a kind word or a helping hand, and spent time working with her Mom and Dad in their weekly chores of lawn and gardening in the summer and “snow removal” in the winter, as well as cooking delicious meals for many of the family events and holidays. Nancy enjoyed attending sporting and music events with her daughters and was there for them with a word of encouragement or support. She was an accomplished crafter, and was always ready with a beautiful handmade arrangement, card or gift bag to honor a birthday or other special occasion. While Nancy will be missed and loved by family, friends, and the lives she touched, she will not be forgotten, and her kindness and goodwill will live on in the lives of the people that knew her.

In addition to her parents she is survived by daughters Abigail Avery and Madilyn Elisabeth Kohl both of Tunkhannock, Brothers David B. Pomeren and John Balint, Jr., both of Clarks Summit, sister Linda Franks, and husband Sergi of Winter Garden, FL, and two Nephews, Adam and Zachary Balint, both of Clarks Summit.

Funeral services will be held Thursday Jan. 21 at 12 noon from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Rev. Kenneth Trexler officiating. Friends may call from 10am until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1541 Alta Drive, Suite 204, Whitehall, PA 18052. www.aplitwinfuneralhomes.com
