Sherry Lynn Wilcha, 58, of Meshoppen, PA passed away peacefully at the Scranton Regional Hospital on May 12th surrounded by her family. She was born to Nancy A. Howell and the late Gerald P. Wilcha on June 5th, 1958 in Scranton. Sherry was a graduate of the Youth Learning Center in Pittsburgh and later earned certifications as an equipment operator. Sherry worked for many years for the Pennsylvania DOT and later owned and operated a pet grooming business named “Sherry’s Shear Shack.”

Sherry was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved deeply and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was hard-working, generous of heart and free in spirit.

Sherry loved her beautiful spot by the creek and spending summers at Lake Winola. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed many artistic hobbies like stained-glass and candle making. She enjoyed traveling, riding her motorcycle, playing pool, water and snow skiing, fishing and hunting.

Sherry is preceded in death by her father Gerald P. Wilcha. She is survived by her mother Nancy A. Howell, daughter Skyler Ann Wilcha and her fiancé Kenneth Ross, Skyler’s father Eric Hunsinger, sister Susan Fadule and husband Matthew, brother Glenn Wilcha and wife Lucy, 4 nieces, and many life-long friends.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service on Friday, May 26th at 7pm at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA with Rev. John Shaffer officiating. Visitation begins at 6pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the True Friends Animal Welfare Center in Montrose, PA
