Shirley C. Cokely, 90, of Springville Twp. Died Tuesday June 7, 2022 at home with her family by her side. Born in Tunkhannock on August 22, 1931 the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Graham Colbenson. Her husband the late Ronald “Jake” Cokely died in 1981.

Shirley graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1949. She was a Charter member of the Springville Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years and one of the three founders of the Clothes Closet located in Springville Twp. For 29 years Shirley was the Secretary for Springville Township.  She was a member of the Springville United Methodist Church. In her earlier days she was involved with cub scouts and 4-H. She enjoyed traveling and making baby blankets.

She is preceded in death beside her parents and husband by her sister Elsie Puzza and her two brothers Keith Colbenson and Bob Colbenson.

She is survived by her two daughters Connie Swackhamer of Springville Twp., Dorothy States and her husband Richard of Springville Twp.  and her son Bruce Cokely and his wife Angie of Auburn Twp. Also, by her significant other Sonny Golden. Six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four great-great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Arrangements by Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, Tunkhannock.
