Stuart Elliot Elick, 49, of Shavertown, passed away at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital on April 14, 2023, following a brief illness. He was surrounded by loving friends and family.  Stuart was born in Tunkhannock on January 29, 1974, and was the son of the late Raymond and Rosemary Carrigg Elick.  Stuart was a graduate of Tunkhannock  Area High School, where he was an exceptional athlete in soccer, basketball, and track & field- ranking statewide in the high jump. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University, where he continued his track & field career.  Then, later in life, while raising his children, Stuart pursued a Master’s Degree from Misericordia University.  Stuart was an avid traveler and traveled extensively throughout Europe, which was one of his life goals. He was proud of his well-established 23-year career in Training and Development at Astound Broadband.

Stuart built his career on his ability to create genuine and meaningful relationships with others.  Through his warm and positive spirit, he inspired people to better themselves at work or in their personal lives.  He was the definition of a Renaissance man. His love of nature, history, culinary arts, and his family was unrivaled only by a reverence for where he came from and those who preceded him.  He was a wordsmith at heart – an artist in the truest sense.  The waterfalls on his family property, coupled with a Walt Whitman poem, meant more to him than any accolade anyone could give. Stuart welcomed everyone into his home, loved to keep people well-fed, and his home was filled with love and laughter. His dedication to spending time with his family came first, especially the loves of his life – his children Elliot, 9 and Elyse, 4.

He is survived by his children Elliot Elick and Elyse Elick and their mother, Alyssa Elick of Shavertown, PA; siblings Raymond and Danielle Elick of Westminster, CO, Charlie and Elizabeth Elick of Cranston, RI, John Elick and Lacey Ceschini of East Freedom PA,  Dr. Jennifer Elick and Barbara Starr of Selinsgrove PA, Justin and Kelly Elick, of Chicago IL, Brendan and Phyllis Elick of Ardmore PA, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
