Vivian Treharne Quinn, 94, of Tunkhannock passed away at the Golden
Living Center on Tuesday evening, November 17, 2015. She was born in
the Bronx NY on January 11, 1921. She was the daughter of the late
William and Mariannam Bukowski Treharne. She was married for forty
three years to the late Walter Scott Quinn, who passed away in 1987.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian is preceded in death by
a brother, William Treharne, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Vivian Sutton and husband Richard of
Huntington NY, son William Quinn of Tunkhannock, granddaughter Kristin
Quinn and husband Peter of Greenlawn NY, two great grandsons, Liam and
Brendan Quinn of Greenlawn NY, and six nieces and two nephews.

Vivian was a graduate of Hicksville, NY High School. She traveled
extensively throughout the country during World War II to be near her
husband. Walter and Vivian raised their family on Long Island, where
she had a long career in accounting and sales. In the early 1970’s
their love of the outdoors led them to build a cabin in Susquehanna
County, which they visited on weekends for many years. A few years
after Walter passed away Vivian moved to Tunkhannock, where she
resided until her death. She was a member of the Nativity BVM Parish
family.

Vivian was known as Mom to her extended family. She was always young
at heart and she approached life and the world around her with an open
mind and a natural sense of curiosity. We loved to hear her stories,
and we valued her insight. Throughout her life Vivian had the loving
companionship of her cats and dogs. She enjoyed knitting and
celebrating birthdays with her friends. She loved shopping in small
towns and at the mall. She loved music and appreciated the best of
just about any style, with Italian opera and other classics being
among her long time favorites. She loved taking day trips to explore
the countryside and especially enjoyed traveling to the Finger Lakes
region.

Vivian’s ashes will be interred at the grave of her late husband
Walter in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton NY. Memorial services
will be held at a date to be determined. Donations in her memory may
be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter in South Abington Township.
