William Dunlap

F. Dunlap, 90, of Forkston passed away Nov. 27, 2015 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.  William was born Feb. 20, 1925 in Mehoopany and he was the son of the late Forrest M. and Katharine A. Dunlap.

After graduating high school William enlisted in the Marine Corps and served at Iwo Jima.  When he came home he went on to marry the former Eleanor R. Shaffer.  William and Eleanor ran their family farm in Forkston for 68 years along with the Dairy Bar in Mehoopany.  William was a board member of the United Penn Bank and he enjoyed hunting and farming and the love of his family and long time friends.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Robert Dunlap and a son Terry Dunlap.

In addition to his wife William is survived by a son Forrest K. Dunlap and his wife Carolene of Forkston 4 grandchildren-Zeth and his wife Davina, Katie, Randy and Devin and 4 great grandchildren-Devin and Zeva, Aaron and Kyle.

Service will be private at the convenience of the family and interment will be at the Vaughn cemetery at a later date.  A special thanks to the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their loving care of William and his family.  Memorial contributions may be made in William’s honor to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart 100 Williams St. Dunmore, Pa 18512.
