William M. Evans, 84, of Factoryville died Monday morning at V.N.A Hospice at Geisinger C.M.C. Born in Dickson City on August 2nd, 1930 the son of the late Michael and Agnes Evans. His wife the former Mary I. Cheek died on December 2nd, 2008. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his sacrifices. Surviving are two sons Bob Evans and his wife Sandy of Eynon and David Evans and his wife Linda of Sturgis. One granddaughter Samantha Evans of Sturgis; two grandsons Daniel and his wife Kristen of Peckville and Robert and his wife Julie of Wellington, FL and four great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 am from the Church of Our Lady of the Abington’s, 700 W Main St, Dalton with Father Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call at Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville on Thursday from 5-7 pm. Interment at Evergreen –Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville.
