Cecelia Shandrey, 95, of Factoryville died Saturday Jan. 16, 2016 at VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger C.M.C, Scranton. Born in Waverly on Sept. 5, 1920; the daughter of the late John and Mary Lesho Janichko.
She worked in the cafeteria at Keystone College. She was a member of Our lady of the Abington’s Church, Dalton. Cecelia enjoyed Canning and gardening.
Preceded in death by her husband John Shandrey Sr., June 13, 1974; two brothers John and Frank and four sisters Irene, Agnes, Barbara and Anna Weins; son-in-law Robert Karcheski died 2009.
Surviving are a daughter Mary Karcheski of Dalton, a son John Shandrey Jr. and his wife Arlene McHale of West Abington Twp.; granddaughter Nicole Karcheski Munley and husband Brian of Scott Twp.; brother Joseph Janichko and his wife Catherine of Waverly; sister-in-law Mary Shandrey of New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10am from the Our Lady of the Abington’s Church, Dalton with Father Thomas Petro presiding. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville. Interment at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
