A memorial service will be held in his honor on Sunday Dec. 2, 2018 at the Harding- Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock at 3pm. A visitation will be held from 1pm until the time of the service. As per David’s request there will be a celebration of his life immediately following the service. It will be at the home of his brother James (Rick) Harvey and his wife Diane 430 Dulcey Lane Factoryville, Pa. 18419.

David Allen Harvey, 62, of Pleasant Garden, N.C. passed away, at his home, surrounded by loved ones, after his final battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Harvey, Sr; his father-in-law, Floyd “Bud” Decker, Sr; his mother in law, Dorothy “Dot” Decker; and his brother in law, Craig McCarty.
David leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Vanessa Harvey, of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; his mother, Barbara Harvey of Tunkhannock; brother James (Rick) Harvey and wife Diane of Lake Winola; Sister, Cindy McCarty, of Tunkhannock, Sister, Shirley Richter and husband David of Lake Winola; brother in law Randy Bird of Tunkhannock, brother in law Floyd Buddy Decker and wife Barbara of Pleasant Garden, NC; brother in law Ray Decker and wife Kristy of Pleasant Garden, N.C; sister in law, Irene Rose Sheffield and husband Johnny of Seagrove, N.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to his niece Rebecca Blaisure for the care and comfort she gave him. He will be greatly missed by all.
David graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1973. He served in the United States Air Force and then worked as a heavy equipment operator. In more recent years he drove truck until his illness.
He loved Nascar, riding his Harley, playing his guitar and making people laugh. Harv had many knacks, most of all he gave his heart, love and compassion. He provided comfort or a helping hand always without question. He was like a father to so many children and adored by all. Above all else, he loved and protected his wife Vanessa. He was simply the humblest of all men.
