Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, at 1 pm at The Church of the Epiphany 25 Church Hill, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.

Dorothy Naylor, 90, of Dalton passed away peacefully in her sleep after prolonged illness. Born in Scranton on April 22, 1926, daughter of the late Ralph and Gwladys Jones Smith. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Naylor Jr;

Dorothy graduated from Clarks Summit High School and Hahnemann School of Nursing. Prior to her marriage, Dorothy worked as a nurse. She left nursing to raise their children. When their children were older, Dorothy worked for many years as a physician’s assistant. Dorothy also volunteered with the Visiting Nurses Association and Welcome Wagon. She served Glenburn Twp. for many years as auditor then tax collector. Dorothy was a life time member of The Church of the Epiphany, Glenburn, where she sang in the choir, served as member and chairman of the Altar Guild, was a Chalice Bearer, and offered communion to home-bound parishioners. She enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, knitting, ceramics and was an avid bowler.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Sandra Naylor of Glenburn Twp. and Nancy Naylor of West Abington Twp.; two sons, R. Emory Naylor III and his wife Renee of Basin WY and Tim Naylor and his wife Daphne of West Cornwall, CT; four grandchildren, Nettie Hohnhorst, Cammie and Ethan Naylor, and Sydney Schilpp; and three great-grandchildren, Reata, Anna, and Hagen Hohnhorst.
