Gail L. Van Fleet, 77, of Dalton died Sunday February 11, 2024, at Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in Scranton on March 11, 1946; daughter of the late Howard and Virginia Carpenter Churchill.  She would have celebrated her 57 anniversary to Nelson “Bud” Van Fleet on June 11, 2024.

She belonged to the Dalton United Methodist Church; life member and past president of the Dalton Ladies Auxiliary; she was once active in the Lackawanna Trail Booster Club and Friends of Music. She was a 7-degree Master Black belt in Tang Soo Do. Enjoyed horses as a youth and enjoyed crossword puzzles later in life. She loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Gail was preceded in death beside her parents by her brother, Earl Churchill; sister, Beth Savickas; son-in-law Stephen Woodcock, who died in 2019.

Surviving beside her husband are two daughters, Donee Woodcock of Dalton; Chandra (Dan) of Dalton; son, Heath Van Fleet of Nicholson; grandchildren Josh, Virginia, Cloe, and Lena Van Fleet; Evelyn and Kaylah Woodcock; Dominic and Colton Lenz; sister-in-law Carol Churchill of Springville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Friday February 16, 2024, at 5pm from Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with Pastor Jean Blackie officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton Fire Company P.O. Box 684 Dalton PA 18414.
