Gerald E. Aten, 66, of Harford formerly of Factoryville died Thursday Sept. 6, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Meshoppen on Dec. 12, 1951; son of the late Carl and Lillian Grannis Aten.  His wife is the former Rebecca Antoine.

Jerry graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School.  He was a proud Navy Veteran serving his country in a special operation “Deep Freeze” in Antarctica during the Vietnam War.  He later attended Keystone College and earned an associates degree in computer science.  Owner/Operator of Aten Supply in Factoryville. A custodial worker for Lackawanna Trail School District.  A member of the Factoryville United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by his brother Richard.

Surviving beside his wife are four sons Luke and his wife Marisa Ryon, Ben and his wife Kathryn Ryon, Erich and Matt Aten and a daughter Kim and her husband Jeff Smith.  Grandchildren Carolena , Isaac, Lyla, Charley, Zeke and Grant. Two sisters Elena McAndrew and Tina McGurl. Six brothers Carl, Melvin, Irvin, Russell, Ronald and Edward.  In addition, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be Monday 9/10/2018 at 10 am from Anthony. P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with Pastor T.J. McCabe officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 3-6pm.
