James Elwin Rogers, 83, passed away at CMC hospital on Nov. 6, 2023.  He was born in Nicholson on April 10, 1940 and was the son of the late Elwin H. Rogers and the late former Elizabeth Fisher.  He is married to the former Anna Jane Dunlap.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time on his farm raising his animals.  He had a love for his antique tractors, making sauerkraut and sausages, along with his homemade ice cream. Family was everything to him.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his first wife Linda Steinruck, son Elwin James Rogers, brothers Leslie Ackerly and Carlton Best, and son-in-law Matt Carpenter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Malinda Carpenter of Dalton, Amy Inman and husband Bill of Tunkhannock, Boyd Rogers and wife Jennifer of Nicholson, 6 grandchildren; Tori Carpenter, Trista Carpenter, Jessica Rafferty, Randy Harvey, Cole Harvey, Shawn Owen, Lillian Rogers, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, sister Shirley and husband Leon von Storch and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sat. Nov. 11th at 11am from the Anthony P. Litwin Funeral Home 33 Reynolds St. Factoryville with George Mecca officiating.  A viewing will be held from 6-8pm on Friday and 10-11am on Saturday at the funeral home.
