John Donald Owen, 80, of Benton Twp. went home to his heavenly Father.  Born in Scranton on Jan.10, 1941; the son of the late Emrys and Mildred Giles Owen. His wife is the former Linda Williams.

John graduated West Scranton High School in 1960. Then served his country in the Navy; he was US Navy Corpsman in 2^nd Marine Division really loved this moment and time and enjoyed telling people about his adventures. He was a 33 Degree Freemason member of the Union Lodge #291 Masonic Temple, Scranton, PA. He worked 28 years at Proctor and Gamble, Mehoopany. He belonged to the First Baptist Church of Factoryville where he was a Deacon and Trustee. He was a funny man who loved to kid with the people he loved.

Preceded in death by his first child, Kristen, brother Emrys Owen Jr. and two sisters Lillian Dixon and Nancy Jordan.

He is survived by his three children John Donald Owen Jr. (Jody) and his wife Kim of Kentucky; daughter Colleen Flowers of Ohio and Robert Brian Owen and his wife Jennifer of Springbrook. His Grandchildren Emily, Bethany and Tyler Owen; Delilah and Liberty Owen; Alecia Biel, Christopher Wagner and Zeric Flowers. Great grandchildren Penelope and Liam Biel. Brother Dennis Owen and his wife Marion of Scranton.
