John (Jack) Walsh, age 86, of Julia Street, Dushore, PA, passed away on September 9 at the Guthrie Memorial Hospital, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

He was born February 17, 1937 to the late John and Rose Domanosky Walsh. He graduated from Hanover Township with the class of 1955. He married Janice Marshall Bahr Walsh on May 15, 1999.Jack worked for Bonner Chevrolet of Kingston, PA for 46 years. He was President of the Chevrolet Only the Best Club fourteen times and served on the following: Chevrolet National Advisory Board, Luzerne County Community College, West Side Vocational School, and Red Rock Auto Department. He founded the Tent Hunting Club in Bradford County. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed watching football, especially the Eagles. He proudly John (Jack) Walsh served his country for six years and seven months.

Jack was a member of Saint Basil’s Church, Monroeton Rod and Gun Club, VFW Post 384 New Albany, and Mildred American Legion Post 452.

Surviving are his wife, Janice; sons, Jayleigh (Erin) Walsh, Highspire, and James (Tricia) Walsh, Hunlock Creek; daughter, Lauren (Greg) Poleschuk, Barnesville; stepchildren, Patrick Bahr, Gillette, WY, Mark (Melissa) Bahr Taylorville, NC, and Daniel Bahr, Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Daytona, Gregor, and Allyssa; great-grandchildren Kassidy and Lily; several nieces and nephews; a special nephew, Tony Piotrowski; and sister-in-law, Janet Hatch. He was predeceased by his parents John and Rose Walsh; sisters and brothers-in law, Catherine and Gerald Shinner, Rosalie and Vincent Antonucci, Doris and David Hatch, and Sidney Hatch.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with his pastor Rev. Thomas Major presiding. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Military pass and review will be at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Overton, PA. The family will provide flowers. They ask that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice
