Lisa Ann Huffsmith, 65, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on May 31, 2021 after a long and courageous fight with cancer.

 

Lisa was born in Scranton on April 6, 1956. She was the daughter of Leonard J. Schiavone (deceased) and Rachel Schiavone of Nicholson. She was married to her husband Richard Huffsmith for almost 40 years.

Lisa will be remembered for her infectious smile and positive personality. Lisa had a passion for caring for others. She always went out of her way to show her love and support.  Lisa loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her father, Lisa was predeceased by her sister Johanna Schiavone.

Lisa is survived by her husband Richard Huffsmith of Tunkhannock; son Stephen Huffsmith of New York; daughter Kathryn Rubino and her husband Anthony Rubino of Philadelphia; sister Lenora Biechler and her husband Al Biechler of Fleetville; brother David Schiavone and his wife Susan Schiavone of New Mexico; sister Gwen Erwood and her husband Jim Erwood of California.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on June 20, 2021 at Lazy Brook Park in Tunkhannock, PA. The family will have a private service at the Park from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with an open celebration for friends and family from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
