Marilyn J. Ertle Scala, 86 of Factoryville died Aug. 1, 2018 at her home in Factoryville.  Born in Jersey City on Jan. 31, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ogla Peck Ertle.  She was the wife of the late Francis C. Scala for 64 years.

 

Marilyn restructured the Title One program for the school district that she worked at, and it was so good that the state adopted it for the entire state.  As a young lady, she graduated high school early at the age of 16.  She was asked to work at an office for a government project.  Unbeknownst to her, it was the Manhattan Project.  After the Manhattan Project she worked many years on the Stock Exchange floor.

 

In addition to her husband and parents Marilyn is preceded in death by a sister Doris Ward.

 

She is survived by three boys Mark of Factoryville, Joseph and wife Robin of Factoryville and Jay and wife Sandy of Nicholson and six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

 

A blessing services will be held Sat Aug. 18th at 5pm from the  Anthony P.
