Raymond Charles Sylvester, 68, of Tunkhannock passed away at the Lehigh Valley Hospital on Aug. 4, 2018.  He was born on Dec. 20, 1949 in Pittston, PA.  He was married to the former Kathleen M. Clamser for 16 years.  Ray was a graduate of the Pittston Area High School and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Ray worked for UPS where he retired after 40 yrs.

Ray enjoyed watching war movies, he loved tinkering and getting things to work, working outside and being with family and friends. He loved life and loved his Penn State Football

In addition to his wife Raymond is survived by his daughters Sandy Sylvester of West Pittston and Cindy Sylvester of Pittston, a step-daughter Stephanie Carney of Meshoppen, step-grandchildren Jordan and Elizabeth Carney of Montrose, and a sister Charlotte Hugg of Elmira, NY.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 7pm from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock with Pastor Al Schwartz officiating.  Friends may pay their respects from 6pm until the time of the service.  In lieu off flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.  For directions or online condolences visit www.aplitwinfuneralhomes.com
