Samuel B. Herring, Jr., 82 of Tunkhannock, PA passed away on March 30, 2018 unexpectedly. He was born on August 23, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  Samuel was a 1955 graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA.  A veteran of the Armed Forces.  He met and married his wife Ruth Tomolonis in her home town of Tunkhannock, Pa.  Surviving is his spouse Ruth Herring.

Surviving are two children: Juliana Psak, Las Vegas, David Herring, Tunkhannock, Pa and grandchildren and great grandchildren.  For over 27 years “Skip” was employed by Procter & Gamble in the Building Maintenance Department.  Many happy times were spent with his grandchildren & great children when they were growing up; he loved them dearly.  He loved to hunt, fish, drive his boat, vegetable & fruit gardening with his wife.  The last few years he and his wife “enjoyed life” living in the Endless Mountains of Tunkhannock.  Everyone who knew “Skip” was familiar with his kind and compassionate personality.  He always made time for friends and family, and never was too busy not to help anyone who needed a hand.  Let us not mourn his passing but celebrate his time here on earth as a blessing to everyone he may have known.  Amen.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11am at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin (BVM), Tunkhannock, Pa.  A visitation will be held from 10am to 11am at the church.  Interment will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock.  For online condolences or directions visit www.aplitwinfuneralhomes.com
