Violet May Belden, 101, of Ft Myers, FL, formerly of Factoryville, died Saturday at Shell Point Retirement Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Belden of Factoryville, daughter Barbara Joan Havasi of Dickson City, longtime companion George Talkevich of Scranton, and two brothers, Emmanuel and William Crew. Born May 21, 1914, in Wales, UK, she was the daughter of the late John & Evelyn Crew.
Violet was a homemaker, a member of the Factoryville Sportsman Club Auxiliary, the Factoryville Fire Co. Auxiliary and the First Baptist Church of Factoryville.
Spending time with her family and friends were her special joys as was wintering in Ft Myers Beach. Violet had a genuine zest for life and made people smile wherever she was. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt who loved singing and walking. Her family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers in both PA and FL, and the staff of Shell Point Larsen Pavilion and Hope Hospice for their kind and considerate care. She is survived by a granddaughter, Sharon Archer and partner Ann Pietrobon, Greentown, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Violet loved animals and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite animal shelter. Memorial service will be Wednesday September 16, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Lynn Breedy of Zion Church of Christ, from the Anthony P.
