Annie and family, I'm so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss. I only met your dad once, at your and George 's wedding , and he seemed to be a wonderful person and loving father. May he rest in peace. Hugs from Fred and myself.

To Elaine, Cindy, Andrea and Thomas, we are sorry to see that your husband, father and brother has passed on into the heavenly realms. I will always remember his kindness and friendly manner to myself and my family members. He would always lend a helping hand and installed the 200 electrical amperage with my father in the Yakobitis homestead on Montgomery Ave. And I will always remember him attending our family functions with Elaine. Those were some good memories of life we can always look back on and cherish. I intended to attend the funeral service at Holy Redeemer today but Mother Nature had other plans as I transport students to school and we were delayed for a few hours. As I take my daily walk past the Wierbowski homestead on Montgomery Ave...I will remember what a good man he was to all of us...Jerry Yakobitis family

Anne, Cindy, Elaine and family; I am so sorry for the passing of your dad/husband. I will always remember our rides to Roller King, he would let us blast Meatloaf and sing at the top of our lungs, and would only say something when we went over the train tracks and he would stop and make us open the doors to let the train through. He had a quiet sense of humor, and always had a twinkle in his eye. The sound of him playing horse shoes on summer nights is etched in my mind, that sound will always remind me of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you, may you find comfort that he lived a long and happy life and is now at peace.

I knew him as a kind and patient man. A family and religious man. And as a hard working, well respected and liked man. A man who loved animals...especially his dogs and was pretty darn good horseshoe pitcher! I know him as Uncle Bernie. The guy who bought me my first football, tried to teach me how to rig a hook for a salted minnow, my first teacher of river fishing, the first to bust me about missing a grouse, and taking me to the long ago WARM-LAND radio basketball tournaments. I remember looking through scrapbooks of high school legend and thinking that guy was something special! But that was only one sliver of what made him special as I would learn as I grow older. Fly high Uncle Bernie I know you deserve those wings!!! I'll be here trying to perfect that salted minnow rig and thinking of you when I pull in that next smallie on the river!!!
